Description

Sam Gross - Gag Cartoon Original Art (c. 1970s). A mainstay of The New Yorker and National Lampoon, Gross derives this gag from the popular cliché about "What books would you take along if stranded in the desert?" The large-scale drawing finds the artist working in dimensions far larger than his cartoons are customarily published. Ink and ink wash over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 13" x 10", matted to 17" x 14". Excellent condition.
