Roger Brand Ike and Tina Turner Illustration Original Art (1981). This large-scale ink-and-paint composition depicts a confrontation between R&B bandleader Ike Turner and the women who helped to make him famous -- featured vocalist Tina Turner and the harmonizing trio known as the Ikettes. No publishing pedigree is documented. The piece appears to derive from an illustrated narrative concerning conflicts within the Turner ensemble. Ink and white watercolor over blue pencil on Bristol board. Image area, 15" x 17". Moderate toning. Tightly trimmed at upper-lower-right margins. Excellent condition.
