    Description

Robert Crumb Topps Salesman's Brochure Illustration Original Art Group (c. 1965). One of Robert Crumb's first professional art jobs outside of his American Greetings Corporation work was for Woody Gelman's Topps Bubble Gum, illustrating a sales incentive brochure. Here's an original page from that rare item, showing two men pouring over a table of offered prizes for selling Topps Bazooka gum. The art is in ink on Bristol board that has been cut and rearranged on a backing piece of thin board, with an approximate image area of 9.5" x 4.5", including hand-lettering. A second, preliminary piece shows the proposed cover art, measuring 10.5" x 5.5" in graphite on paper. Good condition on both.
