Description

René Georges Hermann Paul (Hermann-Paul) A l'Exposition Illustration Originale (Le Figaro, 19-04-1900).
René Georges Hermann Paul (Hermann-Paul) A l'Exposition Illustration Original Art (Le Figaro, 4-19-1900). A little over 121 years ago, on April 14, 1900, Paris hosted the largest Universal Exhibition ever organized in France. The capital has kept one of its most emblematic elements. During the Universal Exhibition of 1900, Le Figaro devoted a long section every day to announcing the day's program: inaugurations, concerts, sports (international fencing tournament, croquet games, automobile competition), and parties (the illuminations of Champ-de-Mars or that of the Trocadéro). Through this published illustration, April 19, 1900, in Le Figaro, Hermann-Paul gives us here a snapshot of a present moment. Piece of history from the 9th Art. Ink, watercolor on Bristol paper with an image area of 12" x 9.5". Framed, matted. Signed. In Excellent condition.
