Description

Reed Crandall Witzend #3 "Cavemen" Book Illustration Original Art (Wallace Wood, 1967). A great pen and ink illustration from one of Al Williamson's friends and favorite artists, Reed Crandall, himself doing his own version of work by Williamson's chief inspiration, artist Joseph Clement Coll. This was done expressly for Al, who loaned it to Wally Wood to include as part of the Reed Crandall Portfolio in Witzend #3. The art is in ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an approximate image area of 11" x 9.5". There's also a cool penciled image of a safari hunter and a charging rhino on the back. There are old glue stains and handling wear in the outer borders, but the image area remains in Excellent condition. From the Al Williamson Collection.
