Description

Raeburn Van Buren Farm Relief Original Art (1934) Van Buren, best known for the long-running comic strip Abbie an' Slats, originally had gained prominence as a narrative illustrator for The Saturday Evening Post and other mass-market slicks. This lively gem lives admirably well up to its title: A farmer, in need of relief, chances upon the promise of just that. Graphite and lithograph crayon on illustration board. Image area, 19" x 19". Pronounced age-toning and marginal staining/scuffing. Very Good condition.
