Description

Peter Poplaski Batman and Robin Illustration Original Art (1992). Peter Poplaski began his artistic career in the Underground Comix scene of the early 1970s, before moving on to more mainstream work for both Marvel and DC. The piece offered here is unpublished, and was done as a preliminary study for one of the covers to the Batman Dailies collection Poplaski did for Kitchen Sink. Poplaski was also the uncredited pencil artist for a Sprang Batman cover offered in a previous Heritage auction. Of Poplaski's work, Sprang said that it was such a pleasure to ink him, that he wished he had discovered Pete earlier. The piece offered has an image area of 11" x 13.5", and it has been framed to an overall size of 15" x 18". The art is in Excellent condition, and was signed by the artist in the lower right.
