Description

Pat Oliphant - Richard Nixon Editorial Cartoon Original Art (LA Times Syndicate, 1974). An editorial cartoon dealing with Nixon and the Watergate investigation, a few months before his resignation, by acclaimed cartoonist Pat Oliphant. During this period, Oliphant was creating editorial cartoons for the Denver Post. Oliphant's trademark character appears next to his signature at the bottom left. Rendered in ink over graphite on Craftint Duo-Shade board with an image area of 15" x 9.25". The toned board has loose text paste-ups under the art, two tears at the top, light punctures on the left image area and scratches on the right image area. Some edge and handling wear with a mat shadow around the piece. Personalized to Garry Trudeau and signed at the bottom. In Very Good condition. From the Garry Trudeau Collection.
