Description

Mike Thibodeaux "Jack Kirby Inking Audition" Silver Surfer Illustration Original Art Signed by Kirby (1981-83). Working from a Jack Kirby composition, artist Mike Thibodeaux inked the King's Sentinel of the Spaceways scene onto a sheet of a paper with the help of a lightbox in 1981. Thus, there are no pencils under these inks, and the page is super-clean. As noted on the back of the drawing, this "inking audition" piece was later signed by Jack Kirby (at the lower right) in 1983. Of course, Thibodeaux passed the audition with flying colors and was soon inking The King on Captain Victory and elsewhere. The image area of this cosmic classic is 13" x 21", and aside from some overall paper aging, the art is in Very Good condition.
