Luc Batem The Marsupilamis' Nest Original Art (2018). Created by André Franquin in 1952, the extraordinary Marsupilami soon enjoyed adventures of his own. At first from the brush of his creator, then since 1987 from the hand of Franquin's disciple, Luc Batem, to whom Franquin entrusted the character. Making full use of his abilities here, Batem paints the nest of the Marsupilamis. This very large (19.5" x 27.5") watercolor is enhanced with acrylic. In Excellent condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
