Description

Kyle Baker, Mike McKone, and Ron Wilson - Specialty Illustration Original Art Group of 3 (c. 1990s-2000s). These specialty drawings might be considered sketches, if not for the wealth of detail that each artist has invested in the respective subjects -- not illustrations in the formal sense of commercially published imagery, but certainly illustrations in terms of concentrated power and depth of characterization. Baker renders the Shadow (the consummate pulp-fiction vigilante) in wet-brush slashes of kinetic rage. McKone depicts the Joker with a sense of humor underlying the characteristic madness. And Wilson's view of the Thing is a rock-solid composition, evocative of the character's primary defining artist, Jack Kirby. Varied media on Bristol board, with image areas ranging from 8" x 8" to 10" x 17". The Joker page bears a crease outside the art area. Average Very Good condition.
