Description
John Byrne - Captain America Specialty Illustration Original Art (2008). The Star-Spangled Avenger unleashes his shield with full force in this bold, kinetic illustration by the comics legend. Byrne's career ignited with a "Fan Art Gallery" piece in Marvel's FOOM in 1974, launching a trajectory that led to an early-'80s run on Captain America and his game-changing work on X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Superman. Ink over graphite on illustration board an image area of 10.25" x 15.75", matted to 15" x 20.5". Minor smudging. Signed and dated by Byrne in the lower image area.
