Description

John Byrne and Steve Lydic - Captain America, Baron Blood, and others Specialty Illustration Original Art (2015). It's Captain America and Puck squaring off against Baron Blood and Golgotha in this spirited commission by Byrne, later brought to life with color by Lydic. The Sentinel of Liberty and Alpha Flight's pint-sized powerhouse look like they're having far too much fun toying with villains who take themselves way too seriously. Byrne's history with the matchup adds an extra kick. He famously co-wrote and penciled Captain America #253-254, culminating in Cap taking Baron Blood's head clean off with his shield. Created in ink and color markers over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 11.25" x 17". Lower right corner crease. Signed and dated by Byrne, and signed by Lydic in the lower left image area. In Excellent condition.
