Description
Joe Jusko and Dave Johnson Die Hard: Year One #7 Cover and Preliminary Original Art Group (BOOM! Studios, 2010). Here is a set of art elements that went into making the cover of the latest Die Hard: Year One issue, all done in mixed media on four pieces of heavy illustration paper by Joe Jusko, working here with digital artist Dave Johnson. Jusko notes that "Dave had the design spill out the rotted peach pit inside his skull for this one. He sent me the basic layout with notes on the immediate left, I went off and produced all the elements on separate pieces of board (so he could maneuver any way he thought would help the design). It's an interesting process because we have no real idea what the final cover will look like until it finally comes together." The art has image areas ranging from 7" x 9.5" up to 11" x 17".
