Description
Jeff Smith Busted "Making Waves" Cruise Promotional Illustration Original Art (CBLDF, 2000). Famed creator of Bone, Jeff Smith original published "Bone" artwork is exceedingly rare as he donated most to the Ohio State University Library. Aside from a few sketches, we have never had any of his published original art for sale before. in 2000, Jeff Smith, was tapped to do a promotional piece used as the cover for the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund's newsletter, Busted, and also used in print ads and a T-Shirt to promote the CBLDF cruise. This work features Fone Bone, with Marv from Frank Miller's Sin City, Death from Neil Gaiman's Sandman, and Denny Colt from Will Eisner's The Spirit.... and if you look really closely, you can see a reference to Evan Dorkin's Milk and Cheese characters (Dairy Products Gone Bad!). For true Bone-ophiles, look for Ted near Smith's signature in the lower right of the 8" x 7.5" image area. Crafted in ink over blue pencil, with paste-up text, on bright white Bristol board.
