Jean-Claude Forest - Published Poster Ad Illustration Original Art (1983). This is a unique pairing of comic strip characters, which makes for an incredible tribute piece, perfect for any eclectic collector. This was produced by Jean-Claude Forest for a 1983 poster ad and it features: his character Barbarella riding a star in the background; the adorable Swee' Pea, created by E.C. Segar, from Popeye and Thimble Theatre; and characters in the style of Winnie Winkle creator Martin Branner, and The Captain and the Kids creator Rudolph Dirks. All signatures of the various creators have been re-created in the lower border. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 11.5" x 7.25". With light overall toning, edge and handling wear, and there is cellophane tape on the reverse side. In Very Good condition.
