Jack Kirby and Mike Royer Ariel, the Book of Fantasy V3 "Musings" Illustration Original Art (Ballantine,1978). Two masters of "blood and thunder" action, artist Jack Kirby and writer Robert E. Howard, were showcased together in a lighter mood, within the pages of Ariel, the Book of Fantasy, volume three. The blank spot near the center of Jack Kirby's double-page spread is where the magazine typeset R. E. Howard's poem, "Musings." In this one stunning piece, Kirby gives the viewer a glimpse of the range of his mastery. It goes clockwise from the fairy tale top row to his romance comic style, down to a horror genre, before moving across through an Apokoliptic scene overlooked by beings both cosmic and monstrous. A masterpiece by Jack "The King" Kirby! The overall size of this whimsical Kirby treasure measures 21" x 15", and aside from some light tanning, the art is in Excellent condition.More information about Jack Kirby.
