Description

Howard Cruse - Security Blanket Illustration Original Art (c. 1980s). Unique among the first generation of Underground Comix artists, Cruse appears here with a frivolous study of a grown-up thumb-sucker and his security blanket. Bizarre and endearing, the image calls to mind a certain famous comic-strip character -- but no, best to leave any perceived likenesses to the imagination. Sheer brilliance from the creator of the Barefootz comics serial and the graphic novel Stuck Rubber Baby. Opaque watercolors on Bristol board, with an image area of 5" x 6.5". Excellent condition.
From the Denis Kitchen Collection.
