Hergé (Georges Rémi) - Newspaper Announcement of Tintin in "Red Rackham's Treasure" Illustration Original Art (Le Soir, 1943). This little gem of an illustration demonstrates Hergé's sense of illustrative clarity. Published on the front page of the newspaper Le Soir on February 18, 1943, it announces the publication of the magnificent Tintin adventure Red Rackham's Treasure. Hergé presents Thomson and Thompson in diving gear, and whether out of elegance or stupidity, they're wearing their bowler hats above their helmets, which will attract the curiosity of the swordfish. Ink and gouache on drawing paper (4.25" x 4.25"). The work is framed along with a clipping of the illustration from the newspaper. Very Good condition.
