Henry Patrick Raleigh Collier's Magazine V60#6 Page 19 Illustration Original Art dated 10-20-17 (Collier's, 1917). "The Sturdy Oak" was a story of Women Suffragettes. The story quote that ran below this artwork read: "The whole population of Whitewater, it seemed to George, crowded about that corner." Very nice graphite work with deep shading and detail. There is some white paint highlighting as well. Signed in the lower right of the 17.5" x 10" illustration board. Toned, with some slight foxing on the far left. In Very Good condition. From A Collection of Great Cartoonists and Illustrators.
