Harry Devlin The American Weekly "The Wit Parade" Single Panel Gag Cartoon / Spot Illustrations Original Art Group of 50 (Hearse Corp., c. 1950s). The American Weekly was a Sunday newspaper supplement published from 1896 until 1966, and at its height reached a massive circulation of approximately 50,000,000 readers. These humorous illustrations were created in a variety of formats and media, with most rendered in ink over graphite on sections of Bristol board. The largest board measures 8.25" x 8.75", while the smallest measures 2.5" x 4.5". The boards range from slight to moderate toning, with smudging/soiling, staining, production marks/stamps, abrasions, marginal tape and tape residue, creasing, torn corners, and handling wear. Overall, in Very Good condition.
