Description
Greg Irons (attributed) Light Illustration (1971). This unfinished gem suggests an intended companion-piece to a psychedelic epic called Light Comitragies (Print Mint, 1971) by Underground Comix trailblazers Irons and Tom Veitch. The armored homunculus bears a striking resemblance to a Carl Barks creation -- the miniature robot assistant to inventor Gyro Gearloose, from a Donald Duck spinoff feature. The present page shows completed principal inking and pen-point shading, but there are many rough-pencil figures in the background. A fascinating embryonic image. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 8" x 13.75". Excellent condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.More information about Greg Irons. See also: Irons, Greg, Irons, Gregory, Gregory Irons Artist.
