    George Herriman archy does his part Interior Illustration Original Art (Doubleday Publ., 1935). "The Captain's Little Golden Haired Daughter Flung Crumbs to the Hungry Porpoises." Although Herriman is famed for his work on his own comic strip Krazy Kat, he also provided covers and illustrations for several of the Don Marquis' archy and mehitabel books. This piece accompanied a poem by Archy titled "a spiggoty hero". Crafted in ink (with some scratch board technique) on 6.25" x 9.25" Bristol board. Signed with an "H" in the lower right. There are stains in the image area and margins. In Good condition.
