Description
Frank McSavage and Harland Young Hey, There - It's Yogi Bear Original Interior Art Group of 28 (Whitman Publ./Hanna-Barbera, 1964). Whitman's Tell-a-Tale Books gave Little Golden Books and Rand McNally's Book Elf line serious competition with such kid-stuff delights as this lively adventure of the Smarter-than-the-Average Bear and his woodlands friends. The profusely illustrated tale concerns Yogi's attempts to rescue Cindy Bear from captivity in a traveling circus. Note-perfect depictions throughout of the animated-cartoon characters. Opaque watercolors on off-white watercolor stock. Image areas, 9" x 9.5". Most pages show light surface peeling on reverse sides only, a result of their formerly having been mounted on scrapbook-page stock. Accompanied by a copy of the 1964 edition.
