Frank Frazetta A Princess of Mars John Carter of Mars Interior Illustration Original Art (Doubleday, 1970). Frank Frazetta's art for Edgar Rice Burroughs' "John Carter of Mars" series of books set a standard for other artists to follow. He helped to cement these characters and locales into the minds of a whole new generation of fans... fans of both ERB's classics, and also of Frazetta's artwork.
This graphite piece features John Carter and Princess Dejah Thoris faced with a Barsoomian warrior riding on a thoat and it appeared on Page 156 of the Doubleday hardcover. It is one of only three interior illustrations. Created in graphite on 9.25" x 10.25" illustration board. Signed in the lower right, and matted to 17" x 17.5". In Excellent condition.
