Description

Everett Raymond Kinstler - Pulp Illustration Original Art (1950s). Kinstler's richly textured pen-and-brush technique reflects the influence of his famous mentor, James Montgomery Flagg. After a successful start as a comic-book and pulp illustrator, Kinstler turned to painting, especially high-society and celebrity portraiture. This tense illustration (of undocumented publishing pedigree) is a superb example of his free-and-easy pen line, which achieves strong realistic accuracy in the attitudes of the figures in a noir-style confrontation. The art measures 11" x 10", glass-framed to approximately 16" square. Apart from some edge wear and marginal notations, the piece is in Very Good condition.
