Description

Everett Raymond Kinstler Dime Mystery #205 Illustration Original Art (Popular Publications, 1949). Kinstler's eerie apparition, here, made an ideal image for Dime Mystery, one of the hardiest of the weird-menace pulp magazines. Kinstler was, in turn, an ideal talent for the pulps, and for the crime-and-horror comic books -- and for the fine-art gallery scene, and ultimately for the White House, which contains his official portraits of Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan. This piece also can be seen in 2005's Everett Raymond Kinstler: An Artist's Journey through Popular Culture. Ink and white watercolor over graphite on age-toned illustration board. Personalized inscription at lower left. Image area, 15" x 14.5". Very Good condition, with handling wear and proportionately small torn areas at lower left and lower right.
From the Estate of Ray Skirsky
