Eric Stanton Stantoons #45 "Blundie in Blunderland" Story Pages 2-3 Illustrations Original Art (Stanton Archives, 1990). Fetish-art legend Eric Stanton, who shared a New York studio with Steve Ditko for nearly a decade, rarely ventured into superheroes, but when he did, he went all in. Stanton even claimed a hand in Spider-Man's creation, telling Greg Theakston in 1988 that he and Ditko storyboarded together and that Stanton suggested the webbing shoot from Spidey's hands. It's no surprise, then, that Stanton gravitated to Wonder Woman, whose bondage-laced mythology famously caught his eye. In the 1970s he created Blunder Broad, a thinly veiled parody that became a fixation, spawning more than forty comics and culminating in the two-part epic "Blundie in Blunderland" in Stantoons #45-46 (1990). Original Blunder Broad art is scarce, making this pair of pages, opening the tale in Part 1 with Blunder chasing the perpetually-late rabbit, a rare glimpse into Stanton's obsessive, id-driven magnum opus. Ink on vellum with image areas of 5.75" x 8" and 5.25" x 8.75". In Excellent condition.
