Description

Eric Stanton Focus on London #2 Published Fetish Illustration (1963). Stanton was a famed bondage and fetish artist (this is the first original of his we've ever offered). Why is this piece in a comic art auction? Well, in addition to being renowned and highly collected in his own right, Stanton shared a studio during that period with none other than Steve Ditko. Though of course there is no official word that Ditko participated in this, he did indeed draw some work for Stanton. And there are certainly elements in the man's face, hands and posture here that bring to mind the master Spider-Man and Dr. Strange artist. Stanton's original artwork from the 1960s is quite rare, and this very tightly penciled and partially inked image is exactly what he's known for. This piece has an image area of 10.5" x 14.5", and the art is in Very Good condition.
