Description

DC Artist - Batman Licensing Illustrations Original Art (DC/Fun Stuff, 1987). These imposing Batman illustrations were once part of Joe Orlando's estate and were created as DC licensing art under Orlando's direction in the Special Projects department for use with Fun Stuff, a licensed apparel and merchandising company that produced Batman items in the late 1980s and 1990s. The images draw clear influence from José Luis García-López, whose elegant, athletic Batman became one of DC's definitive licensed looks through his famed 1982 DC Comics Style Guide work. That classic model kept the Dark Knight powerful, polished, and unmistakably on-brand across toys, apparel, packaging, and pop-culture merchandise. Created in ink over graphite and blue pencil on vellum with an image area of 19.25" x 12.25". Folding crease down the middle, whiteout touch-ups, corner creasing, and handling wear. In Very Good condition.
