Description

David Wright - Lady with Cigarette Pin-Up Illustration Original Art (c. 1960). Perched on the arm of a sofa like she owns the room, this impeccably stylish Wright beauty turns a casual cigarette into a high-society accessory. Untitled and ad-ready, it has the polished, aspirational feel of a period cigarette campaign -- Players wouldn't have looked out of place beneath it. This elegant example of David Wright's later pin-up work is reproduced on page 182 of Terry Parker's Sirens: The Pin-Up Art of David Wright (2013). Created in gouache over graphite on art paper with an image area of 11.75" x 14.25". Adhesive residue on the edges, light dust shadow on left edge, corner creasing, and minor handling wear. Signed by Wright in the lower right corner. In Very Good condition.
