Description

Dave Cockrum The Human Fly House Ad Original Art (Marvel Comics, 1978). Created for a house ad that ran in several Marvel books, including Godzilla #16, this image was not used as a cover for this book. Dave Cockrum did provide the cover for issue #3, but that was the only cover for this series he had. Contrary to the issue number shown in the accompanying image, The Human Fly never made it to issue #124, or even to #20, but the character had a following that persists. He was intriguing because he was based on a working stuntman named Rick Rojatt. Dave Cockrum did provide the cover for issue #3, but that was the only cover for this series he had. Signed in the right border. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 9.75" x 17". Numerous pinholes. Glue stains. All of the header dressing and logo are stat paste-ups. Very Good condition.

More Information: EDIT: This art was identified as being used for a house ad in several Marvel comics in 1978.
