    Description

Dan DeCarlo Joker April-1957 Single Panel Gag Cartoon Illustration Original Art (Humorama/Popular Cartoons, 1957). We don't see a punchline, but with lines like this... who needs one? You only have to look at that face to know for sure that this is by Dan DeCarlo, who would go on to define the Archie Comics house style for decades to come. This gorgeous piece was reprinted three times after its first appearance... in Laugh Riot (October 1965), Laugh Digest (April 1971), and in Popular Cartoons (April 1973). A captivating piece in ink and grey tone wash over graphite on toned 11" x 15". There is tape residue in the top margin. In Very Good condition.
