Description
Cy Hungerford "Treasure Island" Specialty Illustration Original Art (c. 1920-40s). Well-known cartoonist Cy Hungerford took a trip the the Nassau island "Treasure Island" (now known as "Blue Lagoon Island"). It was then owned by fellow cartoonist John T. McCutcheon. A wonderful person account of his trip with friend Parsons, including a charming caricature map of the island. Undated at the time of creation, it was given as a gift in 1958 and signed/dated at that time. Crafted in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 18.5" x 15.5". There is a crack in the stiff, slightly curved board, on the lower right side and it is mended with tape on the backside. The bottom right corner is broken off, and the left side has discoloring.
