Chris Ware - Acme Novelty Library and CUD ad Illustration Original Art (NewCity Newspaper, c. 1995). There is a lot going on in this ad, much like any issue of Chris Ware's wildly popular Acme Novelty Library. The main image features little Jimmy Corrigan playing with his superhero friend, whereas the Lawyer-sized print sings the praises (and rightly so) of both the Acme Novelty Library, and Terry Laban's CUD. The bottom section mentions signings at Quimby's and Halley's, two book retailers in Chicago. The art was created in ink over blue pencil on illustration board with an image area of 12" x 16.5". Some of the design text is hand-lettered, whereas the bulk of the text (and the comic covers) are stat paste-ups. This is a great looking ad and a nice piece of art at the same time. Personalized and signed by Ware in the lower margin. In Excellent condition.
