Description
Children's Storybook Covers Original Art Group of 5 (Samuel Lowe, c. 1950s). Four painted cover illustrations featuring adorable kids and animals, plus one neat preliminary cover, make up this lot. The fully painted book covers include Betty Plays Lady, Billy Boy, and Trinket; each is painted in gouache with color pencil highlights on illustration board with image sizes of 6" x 8". Each has the title on an overlay, The fourth cover, The Busy Children, is also in gouache with color pencil highlights, painted on a trimmed piece of Bristol board measuring approximately 6.5" x 8.25". A separate cover element, "With Two Pop-Ups" in a burst-style frame is included in an envelope on back. The final piece is a tight preliminary for Mrs. Brown's Children, painted in ink and watercolor on paper measuring 6" x 8". The "door" in the cover is cut on three sides to be opened. Condition is Good overall, with handling wear, tape, and some minor stains.More information about Otto Schulz Artist.
