    Description

Bob Zoell Safety in the Kitchen Illustration Original Art (c. 1970s). Kitchen décor deluxe in this large-scale masterpiece of slapstick humor from Art Deco cartoonist Zoell. The depiction of elf-like creatures, causing mayhem with a cookstove and an electric toaster, is delightful. As usual, Zoell is working in a style suggestive of 1930s-period animated cartoons, complete with a muted, painted background and cel-like inked figures in stark black and white. One of the niftier Zoells we've seen in recent years. Ink and greyscale watercolors over graphite on illustration board and transparent overlay. Image area, 12" x 16.5", matted to 18" x 23". Faint age toning. Excellent condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
