Description
Bernie Wrightson - Uncle Creepy Portrait Sketch Original Art (1979). Uncle Creepy looks like he is brainstorming bedtime stories best read with the lights on. This nicely sized portrait sketch captures Warren's macabre horror host with the sinister charm Jim Warren famously likened to a ghoulish Boris Karloff. Bernie Wrightson was a frequent contributor to Creepy and Eerie throughout the 1970s, and this sketch comes from a prime period in his career, while he was still working with Warren and deep into the creation of his illustrated Frankenstein masterpiece. Rendered in pen ink on textured illustration paper measuring 13" x 15.75". Moisture stain in the top right corner, light smudging on the edges, and moderate handling wear.
