Description

Bernie Wrightson - Uncle Creepy Frontispiece Illustration Original Art (Warren, c. 1970s). The famous Warren horror host, Uncle Creepy, stands desolate among the darkness of space, by the hand of Bernie Wrightson. Using his unmistakable linework throughout, the Master of the Macabre creates various textures for a nice black and white sci-fi contrast. This image was published in the 1991 retrospective art book Berni Wrightson: A Look Back. As this catalog went to press, we hadn't yet nailed down which magazine issue this appears in; we will endeavor to add that information to our online listing prior to the auction. Ink and marker over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12" x 17". Light toning, with edge and handling wear and slight creasing. Signed and in otherwise Excellent condition.
