Bernie Wrightson - The Shadow Illustration Original Art (undated). Every piece by Bernie Wrightson is exciting, but this sketch of pulp icon The Shadow is exceptional because it reunites the Master of the Macabre with the character he was originally slated to illustrate in a 1973 DC Comics series. Wrightson even produced promotional artwork for the project before being replaced by Michael Wm. Kaluta. A truly exciting piece, it confirms that Wrightson's gothic sensibilities were a natural fit for The Shadow. Marker on paper with a 10" x 12" image area.
