Ben Templesmith He-Bros of the Universe and Dinosauria Book One Illustrations Original Art Group of 2 (2021). Ben Templesmith is a fan at heart, and it shows in two wildly creative, fan-fueled art projects. First, his summer-long riff on Masters of the Universe reimagined the classic characters in his unmistakable style, culminating in He-Bros of the Universe -- a limited-run art book released through his Squid Army Patreon. This lot features illustration #17, a dramatic top-down view of Spikor, brandishing his harpoon hand and spiked weapon. Also included is Templesmith's vibrant take on the dinosaur Corythosaurus, created for his 2021 Dinotober event, which led to the release of Dinosauria Book One, a collection of prehistoric paintings published exclusively through his Squid Army Patreon. Spikor is created in watercolor, ink, and white paint over graphite on art paper with an end-to-end image area of 8.5" x 11". The Corythosaurus is created in watercolor, ink, and white paint over graphite on gray toned card stock, with an image area of 6.5" x 8.75". Each is signed and dated by Templesmith in the lower left.
