Description

Basil Wolverton "The Cloud Breaker" Unpublished Illustration Original Art (c. 1930s). This appears to be a spot illustration for a text story titled "The Cloud Breaker." It is most likely an unpublished piece for a pulp magazine. The art is ink and Conte crayon on textured art paper with an image area of 9.25" x 11.25". Of particular note is how Wolverton illustrated the vast expanse of space. Instead of inking solid black, he drew tiny little bitty loops. The amount of detail on this page is staggering. The piece is signed on the front and addressed to himself on the back. It is tanned with corner wear and folding, and part of the caption is skinned off. There is a horizontal fold through the entire image area, however the front and back 15.5" x 18" floating glass framing makes it hard to notice from the front. Overall in Very Good condition.
