Basil Gogos - Bela Lugosi as Dracula Illustration Original Art (undated). "The power of Dracula compels you... to buy this!" Basil Gogos built a legendary career painting vivid, chilling covers for Famous Monsters of Filmland, bottling classic movie monsters in color that practically glowed off the page. But he was more than a magazine cover master. Here, he turns that same flair to a striking rendering of Bela Lugosi, eyes caught in a spotlight as he hypnotizes you into submission, a nod to Universal's Dracula that's equal parts bite and delight. Charcoal on vellum with a matted image area of 13.25" x 20", Plexiglas-front framed to 21.75" x 28.75". Signed by Gogos in the lower right margin (obscured by mat). Presents in Excellent condition.
