    Barbara Shermund New Yorker Magazine Illustrations Original Art (c. 1940s). A curvaceous duo enlivens these sketchpad sheets, each character representing a specific nationality. Shermund was a mainstay of The New Yorker and Esquire, among other magazines. Here she displays her typically strong brush-line and a vivid sense of color design. Ink over graphite on bond paper. Image area, 10.5" x 11". Extensive toning, wrinkling, and handling wear. Good condition.
