Andy Kubert - Batman vs. Predator Promotional Original Art (DC/Dark Horse, 1991). The hunter becomes the hunted as Batman, Earth's ultimate detective, is pitted against the extraterrestrial hunter, Predator! Following the release of the original 1987 Predator movie, the intergalactic hunters went on to become the stars of one of the most successful science-fiction franchises of all time, making continual appearances in movies, books, and video games, with their success even popping up into comics, battling Gotham's own vigilante, Batman. In 1991, artists Andy and Adam Kubert, along with writer Dave Gibbons, gave readers a first look into Batman's investigation of the stalkers from space known as the Yuatja. With such an iconic crossover on the way, of course dealers would need flashy eye-candy in order to promote the event, and so a promotional poster was created from this piece of original art, before the comic itself was released. This is the only Batman vs. Predator art that Andy would ink himself. The piece has an image area of 17" x 11", with light toning, edge and corner wear, marginal tape residue, and soft corner wear. Signed and inscribed on the front and back. In Excellent condition.Auction Info
