Description
Alex Ross Wizard the Comics Magazine #75 DC Superheroes Cover Illustration Original Art (1997). Oh, the glory of an Alex Ross superhero painting! There are few artists working today who can compare with Mr. Ross, who has added just the right balance of realism and fantasy in his versions of these classic characters. For this superb, double-page Wizard cover we're treated to a fantastic image of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Hawkman and Hawkgirl, Green Lantern, Elongated Man, the Flash, the Atom, Aquaman, Zatanna, and Red Tornado, plus a mysterious hand doing a finger snap -- "Snapper" Carr, perhaps? All we can say is "Wow!" The art, which was also used for a lithograph by Dynamic Forces, is done in gouache on Bristol board, with an approximate image area of 24" x 17.75", and matted to an overall 32" x 24.75".
