Al Kilgore - Disney-Related Illustrations Original Art and Comic Strip Reprint Book Group of 4 (c. 1960-70s). Three great pieces of original art... one features Donald Duck as a pirate, while another features his friend from The Three Caballeros, José Carioca. These are bold thick lines in ink over graphite, in the style of coloring book illustrations. The third is a gouache painting in grey tones, featuring Mickey Mouse impaled on a copy of "The Schickel Version". This was used as the cover of the September 1968 issue of Film Fan Monthly for a story feature on the Richard Schickel book The Disney Version: The Life, Times, Art, and Commerce of Walt Disney. Lastly, there is a copy of the 1971 book by Howard Bayliss that reprinted some of the earliest Mickey Mouse comic strips (along with some great old ads for Mickey Mouse-related products and toys). The book is 12" x 10.5" and in VF/FN condition. The painting is on illustration board with an image area of 8.25" x 10.5", and the image area is in Excellent condition. The two ink drawings are on 10" x 15" illustration board. They are signed in pencil and the image areas are in Excellent condition.
