    Description

Hugo Pratt Sgt. Kirk Partial Page 23 Original Art (c. 1967). Hugo Pratt is best remembered for his iconic Corto Maltese series, but true fans are equally impressed with his brilliant Western series starring Sgt. Kirk, a deserter of the US Army who befriends American Indian tribes. The series started in 1950, and was revised and continued in Italy in the late 1960s. This partial page, numbered as Page 23, seems to be the original art converted over to an Italian format. So this may be much older than at first thought. The main image area of each Panel has been tripped from the original slick art paper, and affixed to a larger sheet of Bristol board, where the Italian text has been hand-lettered in. Created in ink over graphite on slick paper. The Bristol board section measures 12.5" x 8.25".
