    Description

Herb Trimpe and Bob McLeod G. I. Joe A Real American Hero #1 Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1982). The first appearance of all of the characters on the original team: Snake-Eyes, Scarlett, Stalker, Flash, Zap, Grunt, Breaker, Short-Fuze, Rock 'n Roll, Steeler, Grand Slam, Hawk, and Clutch. These characters have appeal that transcends comics as part of the most popular boy's toy line ever! Also, in the minds of many Joe fans, the art for the rest of the series never again reached the heights of the first issue, and Trimpe's tenure on the book did not last long. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. The stars and stripes of the American flag are on an overlay, and two additional art boards with special effects are also included. The indicia at bottom are from a reprinting for the treasury edition released later that same year. This page has an image area of 10" x 14". Some toning of the paper. The borders are trimmed irregularly. Staple holes. Very Good condition.
