DescriptionHarold Gray Little Orphan Annie Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 5-17-58 (News Syndicate Co., 1958). Annie Warbucks and her dog, Sandy, take a flying leap from a soaring airplane. Fortunately for them, a parachute is attached. Beautifully rendered night sky and jet-streak exhaust patterns -- an unusually minimalist composition, given Gray's capacity for exhaustive detail, but fully in keeping with his habit of creating texture with horizontal crosshatching. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 19.75" x 5". Slightly toned, with marginal notes. In Excellent condition.
